My approach is highly personalized, designed especially to support those challenged from stress and/or injury in these types of situations:
You’ve been in and out of varying degrees of physical pain, and it’s a drag.
You envisioned your life and way of being in the world quite differently. Maybe you have hobbies, athletic pursuits, or a job you miss dearly. Perhaps you’ve lost friend groups and connections because your body could no longer keep up. You believe there is a way to heal, but haven’t found your recipe for success yet. You want to feel strong in your body again.
You experience pain (anxiety, injury, loss, chronic pain, depression, stress, trauma) and you want to own your healing.
You seek relief and self understanding. You may have several of the challenges above and several different people treating you with medicine, food, exercises, talk therapy, massage, art therapy, chiropractic care, and more. You notice some things help some of the time, but you haven’t found the consistent thread.
You’ve heard that bodymind practices like yoga heal, but you haven’t found what works for you.
Maybe you’ve tried several yoga teachers and class styles, and your injuries were exacerbated. Or you’ve yet to find the right fit. You’re open to healing on all levels, body, mind and spirit. You’d like a better understanding of how bodymind practices help you and how to implement them into your daily life in a sustainable way.
You want a yoga practice that honors your heart, mind and body.
You are looking for an uplifting philosophy for your life. A view of the world that resonates with your heart. You wish to calm your mind, to bring more clarity to your vision, and find that ever elusive “repose of the mind.” You seek a smart physical yoga practice, steeped in alignment and biomechanics, informed by therapeutic practices from multiple disciplines including physical therapy, neurobiology, anatomy, biomechanics, and more.
You’re a yoga student or teacher learning to love yourself, with a desire to know the Truth and see reality clearly, for the benefit of all beings.
You recognize that your capacity to love and serve is proportional to the capacity in which you can love and serve yourself. You are NOT interested in spiritual bypass, all good vibes, or transcendence. You are here to live your human life fully. You’re willing to do the shadow work to heal and expand your heart’s capacity to serve to your fullest potential. You know that serving is healing and your pain or blind spots are holding you back.
You’re a yoga teacher looking for more confidence and inspiration so you can share your teaching in an emotionally and physically sustainable way.
As a teacher, it can be challenging to come to your mat inspired week after week, especially if your body shows up differently for you week after week! Staying motivated when your bodymind is unsettled is a unique challenge for you as an embodied yoga teacher.
You are a yoga teacher seeking a trauma-informed lens through which to share your teachings.
You want your yoga to be accessible to any student that comes to your class. You know that trauma is part of living a human life, and you seek to understand your own trauma reactions and how you can hold a safe space for all of your students. Yoga has helped you immensely, but you understand there are varying stages of trauma recovery and wish to provide your students with the most appropriate practices.
My approach works well if you:
- have had at least 6 months from the time of initial injury or stress.
- are familiar with or curious about yoga practices.
- seek to open your heart to the totality of life: stress & calm, pain & pleasure, resistance & ease.
My most successful clients are those that value similar things that I do.
We’ll be even more successful working together if you are:
- able to recognize deep down there are no quick fixes when it comes to healing.
- willing to change, to work with discomfort, and to widen your perspective.
- curious about creating a healing relationship with your body.
- open to yoga practices and philosophy as tools for healing and growth.
- a truth seeker, even when it’s uncomfortable.
- curious how healing your spirit heals your bodymind.
- wish to deepen your connection to your spirit, heart, and soul.
- want to connect with others in a heart centered healing community.
