Yoga & Easing Anxiety
Empower Yourself To Ease Your Anxiety
You might be waking in the morning with a mind full of racing thoughts; perhaps you are a chronic multi-tasker who has a hard time slowing down; maybe you’re having panic attacks, insomnia, racing heart, shortness of breath, and/or digestive problems.
You may have tried medication, talk therapy, even other yoga programs with little lasting relief.
Medication may be absolutely necessary to support symptom management, but does not address the root cause. Talk therapy isn’t getting at it, and although it may be a necessary part of healing anxiety, until you address the anxiety in your body, it’s ineffective.
Perhaps you’ve tried yoga for your anxiety before, only to leave class feeling more anxious. Unspecific yoga practices and the competitive energy of classes can add to your stress in unhelpful ways.

Yoga & Easing Anxiety is an educational and practical yoga experience for people who find themselves overly challenged or suffering with anxiety.
This program is designed from a trauma-informed lens that considers your whole being: your biology, your psychology, your social context, and your spiritual self. I actively heal my own anxiety disorder with these practices, and am honored to guide you on this journey.
This series is for you if you:
- are suffering from anxiety and symptoms related to anxiety.
- have a hard time settling your body and/or your mind.
- are interested in understanding how your nervous system, brain, and biology operate under stress.
- want to understand how your mind affects your anxiety.
- practice yoga already or seek to learn about how yoga practices can support your healing.
- are open to experiencing how connection to others in community heals.
This is not for you if you:
- are looking for a work out.
- are not interested in learning how to manage discomfort.
- have no interest in learning and practicing new things.
- don’t want to understand how your human being operates under stress.
- are not interested in connecting with others in the group in a heartful, curious, courageous way with humility and perfectly imperfect.
This series is holistic and designed to go deep. It combines yoga philosophy, current science, and guided practices of yoga. Sessions include a community or partner activity, a teaching component, and guided yoga practices.
Each week we will explore teachings and practices around specific themes. The themes explored each week build on each other, offering you a clear vision for continuing practice on your own after the series ends.
Themes
Awareness
- Cultivating self-awareness is one of the most important skills to knowing yourself. Knowledge is key to empowering yourself to heal your experience of anxiety.
Mindfulness
- Mindfulness is key to experiencing the present moment, regulating emotions, and untangling the knots of anxiety.
Self Compassion
- Self compassion is a key skill for mindfulness practice and necessary to working with the inner critic that feeds anxious states.
Self Care
- Including the themes above, you’ll identify several small daily practices and strategies for caring for your anxious bodymind.
Community
- Connectedness to others is a biological imperative, healing happens in community. We’ll explore this within our group and identify ways to find connection with others outside this course.
Resilience
- Resilience is the courage to grow from your stress. Putting together the skills and practices from the previous sessions you are left with the fortitude to move forward in your life with more peace and ease.
Small, Intimate Group Experience
Because I want to create a safe, intimate experience, the group will be limited to 15 participants.
Having a smaller group ensures that I can identify and help anyone who might not be connecting with the work or who might be struggling for any reason with the concepts or practices. Having a smaller group also helps foster deeper connections between you and the other members. You’re not just a body on a mat in a massive group. You’re an integral part of everyone’s experience.
This course can help you:
- Identify your internal and external resources that bring more calm to your bodymind.
- Improve sleep, digestion, concentration, and reduce physical pain.
- Reduce or eliminate panic attacks, sleepless nights, burnout.
- Focus your mind to experience more ease and calm in your life.
- Learn practical tools to feel more grounded and balanced.
- Understand how your body works when you feel anxious, empowering you with understanding and compassion.
- Learn how to read your nervous system so you can identify triggers and make healing choices.
- Create heartfelt connections in a community of your peers to bring your healing to the next level.

FAQs:
I recommend you do not skip classes. The very first class is foundational to understanding the language, theories, and philosophy I’ll refer to throughout the course. The material presented builds on the previous session and past participants that missed several classes have expressed less connection to the material and the group.
The first class is foundational for content (see above) and for group connection. You can sign up on my waitlist. This course will be offered at least twice a year, more often as my waitlist calls for it!
No problem! This course is accessible to anyone interested in yoga for healing anxiety. As far as the yoga postures go, they are taught from the perspective of a “work in” rather than a “work out.” Many variations will be given, including the use of yoga props or household substitutes, chairs, walls, and more! Although the yoga asana (postures/shapes/poses) are part of this experience, they are not primary. In the west we often associate yoga with the postures, but you will experience in this course the more expanded definition of yoga practices to include yoga psychology education, philosophy, mantra (chanting), pranayama (breath work), meditation, visualization and more.
Yes! There are 10 YACEP approved CEU’s for yoga teachers in this series.
